The sun is risng a little later and setting a little earlier, and as summer fades into fall its time again to start the planning for this years We Serve First All-Star Classic.
We’ve had better than ever response from our area coaches, who have nominated their seniors for our event. Now, to cobble out the perfect group of 40 athletes, 8 setters, 8 middles, 16 pins, 4 liberoes and 4 defensive specialist… or something close to that!
We’ll be announcing this year’s coaches very soon. It’s going to be hard to pick a winner from the group we have assembled! So much volleyball experience!

To refresh your memory about what the All-Star Classic is all about, here are the details…
Our 40 athletes arrive at Kiski Area Friday night, December 6th for a light yet competitive practice where they will be observed by four area coaches. Afterwards, while the players get a pizza party, the coaches will draft their teams, fantasy volleyball style, using a snake format. They also hope the players left them a couple slices!
The teams return to the gym Saturday afternoon, December 7th, at 4:00pm and play a round robin tournament. We then seed the teams into brackets and play for a title! We love to keep things interesting for the fans, so there will be many games, prizes and delicious food available!
Every year we learn something that will make our event even better, so expect this one to be a notch up from the first two! We sincerely hope you’ll join us on December 7th for the Third Annual We Serve First All-Star Classic!
