Four years ago today
You closed your eyes for good
I hope you found the rewards you earned,
For all the things you stood
Courage, hope, kindness, love, and resilience were at your core.
The way you treated others,
God couldn’t ask for more.
My hope for you is that today,
You play your greatest game.
Your feet are better, your shoulder too!
Your heart is still the same…
All the things life took from you,
Have somehow been restored.
Covering tips and passing dimes
In the glory of the Lord.
And on days when I shank a pass,
And swear that I hear laughter
I’ll look skyward, think of you,
And then I’ll check the rafters.
